I believe those are the TAMA issued Camcos. Nice drums, but not really Camcos. That said, its not too bad of a deal, considering the accompanying cymbals. Personally, I'd try to talk him down a bit.

+1 TAMA/Camco and I would talk him down -quite a bit- from where he is.

The set is not a real Camco set.Its not even from the 70's.

The set is the first gen. of the Tama made Camco drums that they made.

The lugs on the set would date it from about 1983-4.Yes its true that the shells were made in the U.S. they can be the maple shells with rings but with out a photo of the inside of the shell.

The set does have the rare inlay finish wood ,but even with that the set should be around 750.00 but if the shells are the Maple shells then about 1,000 U.S....Mikey

I think you did OK. Probably not a killer deal but a fair price for both parties and that is good. There is a lot of hardware and good quality cymbals that came with that. In fact you probably have nearly half of that in cymbals assuming they are in decent shape. You certainly have at least half the value in hardware and cymbals so worst case scenario you spent $650 for a cool looking and rather unique drum kit. Nothing wrong with that.

That's a late 70's Hoshino (Tama) Camco Renaissance series kit you have. Due to the high build quality and relative rarity, I think you've done well.

Over-all you did good! The brass sweetens up the deal. And those -are- very nice drums, just different makers from the older ones.

I think you did pretty well,you gat a well made quality pro level,and from what I read on here vintage and pro level gear goes for a bit more in Canada than in the U.S.,so if you factor an extra 20 per cent for that I think you did just fine.

Great looking kit,dig the inlay.
