I've come across some 70's 3ply Black Cortex Ludwigs. The bass drum came with natural hoops with an inlay groove (but the inlay is missing). I've been trying to decide if these are original, and if there was maybe some outfit of black cortex drums that came with natural hoops? David mentioned he only sees the black hoops with silver inlays in his '71 catalogue.

Trying to decide if there's a reason to keep the natural finish or just repaint them in black and go with the silver sparkle inlay like most of the outfits? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
