70's Slingerland with 20" floor tom. Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Loading...

I recently acquired my first Slingerland kit and I have to say I'm in love. The sizes of this kit are 24" kick, 13" and 14" rack toms and a whopping 20" floor tom! Big sound for sure! Is a 20" floor tom uncommon for that era? I can't seem to find too much about it during my research. Any and all information on this kit would be much appreciated. I've lurked this forum for a long while now and am looking forward to learning more about vintage drums in general. Thank you for your time.

they aren't common but they most certainly were an option, generally a special ordered size.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Is it 18" deep ? .. just curious, They were supplied with the Concorde kit in mid 70's.. So your kit was maybe a Super Rock kit ordered with a 20 instead of the 18.... must sound like thunder...

Cheers

It was available with this kit from catalog.

My Avante kit from early 70's was available with 24" kick & 18" FT.(which is what I have)

Yes sir it is 18" deep and it most definitely does sound like thunder. I thought they possibly could be the super rock kit. Which ever kit it is I'll love em all the same.

I recovered a kit for a customer that were from the 70's. 24, 14, 15, & 20. The 15 was only 10" deep like the 14….

Yes that is right.. Have you looked up the serial number graph? this will pin down the production date somewhat..
