'71 Acrolite Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Playing a 1970 Acro made 3 days after I was born! I've had a few over the years...they all sound good to me but the 60's and early 70's ones seem to have that something extra special, you can't loose with an acro.

3 days, that's really cool - but that's an old drum! :)

Actually - this '71 that I have was made in Sept, a week before my 5th Birthday. Probably rolled out of the factory around the time of my first day of school - which is appropriate since it's a "student" drum... :)

Nice Acrolite Corny! I got this '66 from one of the members here. Great drum!

Hey

Nice shot!

I have a 69 Acro (with P83 and clear ludaloy shell) and it is my main gig snare.

I have 5-6 snare drums but the Acrolite is the one I play the most.

Unique sound, unique feel, and CONSISTANCY! the tuning is so surprisingly stable... I can make her sleep after a gig for 1, 2 or 3 months... and at the next gig, no need to re-tune her...

She is a LADY! :-)

I just picked a 70 model from e bay for $70 shipped!!! I could not believe no one bid on it, and its in mint shape, I brought it to practice and its extremely close in tone to my 70's Sling aluminum snare, also 5 x 14. The sling has a little more snap to it, but she is a keeper for sure!!!!

Lots of Slingerland drums
