Contemplating selling my white marine '72 ludwig 4 piece set which I aquired in a trade a year ago and need help with valuation. Also included is the Avedis Zildjan cymbals and hardware. A complete set which I got from the son of the original owner who said they had been in storage for 30 years which I took to be true given their excellent condition. They came with the original heads which I replaced with Remo coated CS, top and Aquarian classic clear, bottom on the 14x5 Supra, Remo coated Ambassador/clear on the 13x9 and 16x16 toms and Remo Power stroke 3 on the 22x14 BD (original head on front). The cymbals are 22, 18 and 14 hats, all Avedis. The hardware is original and includes a cool Slingerland boom stand. Also comes with hard cases and drum throne. There is also a BD mounted cymbal holder which is not shown in the pictures. Any thoughts as to what this is worth as a package?

Nice kit. Saw some seam issues on the floor tom? As-is, I'd put it at $900.00-$1100.00.
Yes, the seam had to be re-glued which I had done at the local drum store but the picture is post-fix.
I'd sell cymbals and stands separately. You have $475+ there.
Probably sell the Supra separately too.... $250 +or- .
Maybe $700 to $900 for the three-pieces all together, I would not separate them.
It makes your items more accessable to the masses who may not be able to foot the freight for the entire set, doesn't really kill the completeness by taking the Supra away from the other three drums, and gives you a higher yield for your items.
Others may say not to separate the Supra, but it's done all the time, and it's not so bad as there are thousands of Supras out there a potential buyer could match up to the rest of the drums, maybe even the same buyer for both, who knows.
That is great advice, thanks. I may price as you suggest and offer in total at an incented price.
Well, wait a minute! I kind of disagree about splitting out the Supra IF it's matched with the rest of the kit. You don't always see Supras with corresponding badge numbers and it's kind of nice to have that when possible. At least I'd prefer it if I was looking at buying it. I also like original hardware packages and cymbal sets, too...but that's me.
You'd make the most money by parting them out, but.....dammn, there goes another one then! :2Cents:

Definitely my intent to keep together, plus less hassle than selling individually.
Also, the ride cymbal appears to be a 20" -not a 22". Can you confirm this?

It is a 22". I measured to be sure.
Okay, cool! In that case, here is what I'M going to advise you do...and I'll probably make a big mistake, but here goes...
I advise you to go out and price a brand-new Ludwig Legacy kit with a complete hardware package, new Avedis Zildjian cymbals and a set of fibre case and see what you come up with. Then, after you fix up your original kit and clean it up so it looks just like new, I think you should value it according to what the new kit would cost. Of course, just so you know....you'll (likely) NEVER sell it under those conditions...but that's the new way I am placing monetary valuations on vintage drums, now because I don't believe that Ebay reflects the true market for vintage drum prices. I think Ebay reflects mis-matched kits and shell packs and odds and ends, so it's hard to compare those prices with a complete kit might bring under the right conditions.
Look around a little more -like the Classicvintagedrums.com website and get some ideas of prices from other markets other than completed sales on Ebay.
You've got a nice kit from the looks of it -very complete and well cared for. A little tweaking and....well, you tell me!Eye Ball
