78/79 Ludwig Black Beauty SS 6.5x14 snare Last viewed: 40 minutes ago

I just got a huge Luddy kit and it came with this beauty. So here is a gorgeous 100% original 78/79 (serial number 1918566) Ludwig Black Beauty 6.5x14 super sensitive snare drum. This drum is in immaculate condition and only has a tiny spot or two of rust on the hoops. The finish is very close to mint as I would give it a 9/9.5 out of 10. The super sensitive throw off is 100% complete and works beautifully.

The shell itself is in round as seen in the pics. All measurements lug to lug are 13 7/8. The bottom head looks to be original to the drum ("ludwig ensemble x thin opaque snare 14")

The muffler is complete and looks brand new.

The snare drum came from a set of 1976 3 ply maple cortex drums (check the vintage forum to see the whole kit), which were used in a home studio for the duration of the snare's life.

The only issue with the snare is that the previous owner had clipped two snare wires for the desired sound, which is excellent but hurts to see. (pictured)

You may want to post pics at another site. The link you provided is requiring a log on to DFO.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Would also entertain offers for a partial trade. Looking for a vintage ludwig snare, but only wood snares please. Preferably pointy b/o badge, but older will work as well. Let me know what you have. Thanks!!
