8" Slingerland Brass Snare - Questions Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

Hey Guys,

I saw one of these for $350. Anyone know what one of these sounds like? To look at it, I really want it, but have never played a brass snare, let alone one that's 8 inches! It's 20 lug, and supposedly from the 70s.

Any thoughts?

As a player not that bad, as a resale item not so good.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like I'll pass on this one. It's been for sale for a while, and I guess that's why.

I just looked at the ad again and saw this picture of the throw. To me, that looks like a vintage throw, or was it re-issued?

VM2K is spot on, this a musicyo era snare made in Taiwan, and yes you are

correct the strainer is a reissue of the Slingerland Zoomatic from the 60' and

70'

Thanks a lot everyone for clarifying that for me! You all saved me from making a mistake. Can't believe the seller claimed it was from the 70's and was really rare. That's why I've learned, if I don't know, ask someone else who does!

Thanks again,

Jon
