Never heard of it but looks like a very cool rare floor tom sized snare!

Listing:

The story that came with this drum was that is was special ordered from Ludwig

in the late 20's. Approx. 35 were ordered and approx. 12 remain. They were made

for a Synagogue for special occasions. ( Southeastern Massachusetts ) The shell

is solid copper 16" x 16" with two reinforcing beads. Two wooden reinforcing hoops

on interior with the copper formed over the wood at bearing edge. Initials and snare

bed markings still visible. Strainer is early version Ludwig ( # 338 ) with matching

butt plate. Tube lugs are early version also with no chamfer cuts , and are double

ended. Tension rods have a slotted head ( like Leedy ) but threads are standard ...

not fine threads. Shell has a few nicks and dings appropriate with age, but nothing

glaring. Protective lacquer in good condition. Gut snares , calf heads

( I don't think the snare side is the proper slunk type , but it is thin ) All fitting nickel

plated. Brass single flange rims with 'pushed out' snare gate. Case / bag is hand

made corduroy with some holes on bottom side and tab with '31' stenciled on it.

( 31 of 35 ? ) Overall an incredible example of a rare drum.
