Ha ha, ya, did Ludwig make that??
Thanks for the laugh Viny
WTF is that?? Is that even a real Ludwig badge? Tell him he's dreamin' - actually, tell him I'll give him a dollar for it! Funny Post
That is a real Ludwig kit. But from recently, I know the badge. But those are the Ludwig Accent series, basically their low end line. You can tell by the floor tom only having 12 lugs as opposed to 16. That's usually the give away for a low end line these days. That kit new with hardware would have cost $500-$800 ( depending if cymbals were included ) What he is asking is crazy. It's not a Replica kit ( Ludwig makes those, they sell for around $1,500, and have classic hardware, curved spurs,etc.. ) This is very laughable.
OH better yet - I know this guy ( from the video ) In the video the kit being played is an actual Ludwig Legacy kit. You'll notice the classic hardware,16 lug floor tom. But the kit for sale is not that kit, but the cheapest Ludwig version of it.
I must admit though, i did reach out to the seller. This is what I sent " Just a firendly FYI. The kit being played in the video is nothing like the kit you have for sale. The kit in the video is a high end Ludwig Legacy kit, classic hardware,16 lugs on the floor tom, rail mount. Pretty much made to be a true 1960's Replica kit. The kit you have is the low end Ludwig accent. Very different sounding kits, very different wood and build quality. Your kit was made over seas, the Legacy's were made here in the US. Not sure if you were aware, just figured I would send that info your way. Good luck with the sale. "
Got back to me saying thank's for the info and that it was appreciated. Maybe he just didn't know what he had?
I saw that this morning as well. I'm sure it will sell at that price.
What is he smoking?
Cheers

I agree. The wording of the ad makes me believe the guy or gal just isn't knowledgeable about what they have and think it's worth something. Funny ad though.
Again , to much info from us ! and not enough knowledge from them lol just enough to make them look bad
LOL !! Yeah, sometimes ignorance isn't bliss, it's sheer stupidity.. Obvious Accent series drums with what looks like a cheaply done wrap job. I once saw a local ad for an Accent kit in natural gloss finish for more or less the same price, i believe it was about $1500 Cdn. He was including cymbals, which were also lower budget Zildjians like ZBT and Sabian B8's. Some people don't know drum value from a pimple on their butt..
It doesn't help to that people invest money into budget drums and cymbals not realizing they can't resell it for even close to what they paid. At least with high end gear, if it's barely used you can get somewhat close to what you spent. Not full boat, but you have better odds. You spend $120 on a new 20" ZBT ride, try and sell it back to the store within a week with no use, you'll maybe get $10.
