A Gretsch 'Wizard of Oz Kit' Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Well yeah... I need another drum set like I need a hole in my head. But, ya know, sometimes you just have to grab that skull saw.

Gretsch Emerald Green Pearl kit from 1971. Sizes are: 22, 13, 16 shown with a 4160 snare. The only 'upgrade' I made was changing the post on the tom mount. The original clip mount / post came with the kit, but I've never liked them. Did the rims mount / L arm / post conversion. I like that since it's 100% reversible with no one being the wiser when made original again.

I haven't been around much, but I'm still kicking. Playing with a band and a half and being retired.

The retired part is the best gig I've ever had!

Very cool to find anything in that relatively rare wrap.

One of my very favorite colors. I saw one in the smaller sizes about 5 years ago at the CT drum show and just missed it. Good catch. A real keeper.

That wrap is just drop-dead gorgeous! I don't blame you for breaking out the bone saw!

... and isn't retirement GREAT?! I've even started to 'wake and bake' on some days... I'm loving having my time be my own.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Is that the one that was just on Ebay? The color's one of the one's that looks better in person. Great depth to it. Here's mine Not a lot of these around. Welcome to the brotherhood...

There's a wine red pearl one up on The Bay right now. Think the same, but in red. I think they're rarer yet.
