A little research help please.....Rogers. Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Has anyone tried fitting Rogers 1960s beavertail lugs (with the spring holding in the lug nut) to a big R drum (with a clip holding in the lug nut)? Are they interchangeable?

Reason I ask, is to try and answer an English Rogers question. I was converting my XP8 8” and 10” concert toms the other day to make them double headed. I had drilled two holes in a shell and I looked for a lug to check I was getting it right, but I didn’t have one with me. I did have a lug from one of my English Rogers drums. It wouldn’t fit the factory holes. The hole spacing was the same but the screw boss was bigger on the ER lug. Is this what you Rogers guys would expect of your US lugs?

Ajax made their own B&B lugs and lots of other swivo parts as well but I’ve always assumed that the BT lugs were US-made. Maybe this is telling us that they weren’t.

Thanks

US Beavertails are interchangable. I have made the 10" concert tom double head change myself. Screw boss might be slightly different from very early BT, but slightly enlarging the hole should take care of that.

Do not have any experience with English Rogers.

Exactly what I was after ..Bowing Thanks so much.

So, the English Rogers ones are the odd man out Walking. Visually they look identical to the US ones but the screw boss is 0.4mm bigger, which is enough to mean that the lugs don't fit on to my XP8s.

Thanks again.
