A slingerland drum no one has ever seen Last viewed: 7 minutes ago

This parade drum was made in Chicago about 1950 by the Slingerland Drum Company. The square drum (shell height 14-1/8", snare bed 17-3/16") bears a large emblem affixed to the shell that identifies it as a drum once used by an American Legion post. The separate (double) tension instrument is equipped with eight two-post tube lugs with double-claw hooks and a snare tightener. The wood shell is ornamented with a two-tone gold-and-green pearl decoration, while the flat wood rims are decorated with a 3/4" band of gold sparkle pearl all around the drum. Although it would be interesting to know for which American Legion post this drum was originally made, that piece of its history has long been lost.
