A Surprise at the Back Dr.....WOW! Last viewed: 3 hours ago

So I'm at my 2nd visit to a new(recommended) back Dr. It was to review my X-Rays and discuss treatment and exercises. Near the end of the visit, I mentioned how perhaps drumming may have had a hand in my condition.

So, he goes into this long discussion about his Dad...Bill Lavorgna!Bowing

Bill was Liza Minelli's Drummer and band director for over 30 years, as well as having numerous recording credits of bands in the 60's and early 70's, when he then became Liza's drummer. He talked about 2 month stay's in Vegas when he was a kid and his Dad performed.

Amazing! His Dad had endorsements with Peal and Zildjian, but Pearl got upset with him when he started using Brady Drums.

Pretty Cool! Thought I'd share.

That is an awsome story and no doubt your back Dr. enjoyed every minute of telling it as much as you did listening to it.What incredible memories he must have as Bill Lavorgna would have been on the road alot of the time and your Dr. would have been able to spend some time with his father in the summer mos.Very cool story and thanks for sharing...but just one question. What did your Dr. say when asked if drumming could have had a hand in your condition?Just curious, sorry and don`t mean to be nosey here.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

To answer your question, all he said was that he was very familiar with the mechanics of drumming.

Wow this is a coincidence, I knew Bill through my Dad who was also a session drummer in NYC. They were close friends and we would go up to Bills farm in upstate NY when I was a very young child. Bill sold that place in NY and moved to Maryland years ago, I didn't see them much after they moved.

He was a great person and musician.
