Thanks for the kind words but it's really not necessary. People will take away what they will from whoever happens to provide the info or answer they are looking for. You name three or four guys who post here regularly, but there are many more who offer up useful, helpful info and feedback to the guys that come here hoping to find answers. For every post I put up responding to somebody, there are a dozen other guys doing the same thing. This site is rich in human resources. That's why it's a little embarrassing to be singled out.It takes a village... and we have a good one here. No one, or three guys should be singled out. The credit for VDF goes to -everybody- who contributes to it.I'm honored by your compliment, but the credit really needs to be shared by -many- of our members. I personally have a bunch of guys here that I deeply respect and look to for advice when I need it. They know who they are.John

First, Holliwood, thanks for the kind words.

Purdie speaks wisdom here with this post. We`re all in this together. (ducking)... Us old guys know how to convey the message easier.

But Purdie, there is one member that can be singled out as the inventor of and author of labeling and dating vintage Zildjian K`s and A`s by trademarks. We all know who that is. Searching elsewhere is futile.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I agree. This forum feels like a bunch of guys (and sometime gals) around a big table in a local bar sharing a beer and appetizers. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere with very little negativity. Some super nice people on VDF. Thanks to the Hall of Famers like Purdie, tamadrum (Steve), Slingerland and others. It's a testament to the moderator and that vintage drum people are the best. Bowing

I ,thank you Larry, but compared to some of these guys.I don't know anything. There is just so much knowledge and classy behavior here,...with the occasional.....passionate discussion(which I am guilty of myself).

I learn stuff here all the time, and do my best to keep an open mind about all that's vintage.Tommy is just a great guy,for letting us hang in his candy store(sweet shop for my UK mates).

Here's to another great year Cool1

Well yeah John!.. "almost" .. to say otherwise just wouldn't be factual, would it? Still, even with THAT, this place is the BEST and we have the BEST members. Period. Peruse ANY of the other drum forums and have a look around. Most all of them have arguments and mud slinging as a general way of life! Not so the VDF.. well .. again, not even close to what seems to be the norm elsewhere. You guys, and gals!... are the BEST!

It helps tremendously to have thoughtful, fair-minded, even-handed moderators. You sir are that and more. I really appreciate all the time and effort that you and Dave put into this thing from behind the scenes.

New year everybody, time to pay our club dues and refresh the VDF kitty! Helping to support VDF is the very best way to make sure it'll be here for us tomorrow! I'm going to go hit the Donate button.

Thanks Tommy & Dave... for a great place to hang and socialize with my fellow musicians and just for being there and doing what you do best.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Holliwood, thanks for the props but I'm still a vintage newbie too. However I am old though LOL!!! I need to mention people like John V, Mark VM2K, Mark Cooper, Mike Curotto, Tommy P, Steve B, Dan C, Gary K, Gary W BBK, and the list goes on and on and on. Those and many more are the heart and soul of VDF. Everyone adds something to the list which is a nice thing. Also guys like yourself and Jeff C that have been sharing new veneer wrap projects opens a whole new chapter!

Everyone please take a bow~! Bowing

Thanks all~!

Glenn.

Holliwood-this forum has been a real eye opener for me and i`ve been around for awhile. There are a number of members here who post regularly and then there are the silent ones who listen and learn from some of the best vintage drum knowledge on the planet. There are too many names on here for me to thank individually, but just want to thank all the VDF members(both silent & vocal) for being a part of a well established vintage drum family.
