I've got a 1959 Slingerland kit - gold sparkle - but no bass drum. I have the 14" snare with the clamshell strainer, 12" tom and 16" floor. The drums are in very good shape. I purchased a 1961 Slingy bass (Champagne Sparkle) and recovered it. However, the wrap doesn't match the kit. The company rep. and I tried very hard to match it but an epic fail. With all this being said, should I try to sell each of the toms, bass and snare seperately? or should I try to sell the snare and 2 toms as a set and sell the bass seperate? I can't afford to spend any more on this set and I'd really like to move it in the next couple of weeks. I've seen this snare for sale online as high as $1,000 but I've got about $1000 tied up in the entire kit. I recovered an old 14" Whitehall (it has matching lug casings) to go with the kit that I'd throw in.
I've been very impressed with the knowledge of the posters on this site and I feel comfortable following the advice of the general concensus. I don't have any pics posted online but I can email them to anyone who wishes to help. Thanks for your help and God Bless!
