advice/opinions on possible Ludwig trade Last viewed: 1 day ago

I have been on the hunt for a WMP Clubdate kit for a while, but haven't found one. I'm wondering if I might coax someone into letting theirs go if I offered up my BDP Downbeat kit in trade.

Generally, I'd say that, in similar condition, a Downbeat probably has more value than a Club Date. Maybe $200 more? My kit is probably a 9.0-9.5 out of 10, with nickel hardware.

Let me know what you all think of my idea. Thanks.......marko

I'd think a Downbeat set beats a WMP club date set by a grand at least.

Well, thanks, but that seems a bit optimistic to me. For some reason, WMP is all the rage right now.

A BDP Downbeat is a killer set, especially with nickel hardware; if Robert Mitchum was a drummer, I guarantee this is the kit he'd play. But generally speaking, I buy high & sell low when it comes to drums. Just the way I roll. I'd be lucky to find someone to trade straight across. We'll see if anybody's interested. Thanks for the response ......marko

I wouldn't trade those for a Club Date kit unless it was a VERY special Club Date kit - dead mint with zero flaws. That kit of yours is gorgeous and the nickel looks so sweet.

Mike, they're mid-60's; I can't remember the exact year, & they're set up at my band's practice space. They're in great shape--no fade, no scratches, or extra holes. There is one spot on the batter hoop inlay that has a small buckle; I need to pull the hoop & see if I can't flatten it. I love BDP & nickel--very classy.

teverson-sr, thanks for the heads-up on the club dates in NH; I've pm'ed someone about them. fingers crossed.....marko

Umm, am I seeing an optical ullusion or is that kit set up wrong? Loos like you need to turn kick around, the legs should be in front.
