This looks like a 60's snare drum to me. But it looks like it has a Renown four-point strainer for a strainer Butt End.
I'm pretty new at the Vintage buying/collecting/playing thing....but this just does not look right.
Any comments?

Thanks OldSchool - I see.
I guess they did not use the single point and two point butt ends on all the drums back then. I have to pay more attention to the catalogs.
...wow..now this is in the realm of a Rogers wood Dynasonic. Is there something I am missing about this snare? Why would one want to pay $2500.00 for a Gretsch snare? I just don't get it. Hell, that much for a Dyna is too much, IMO...but that don't mean nuthin'...(my opinion, that is)
That's partially why I posted this thread Jonni......I'm trying to figure out if "I'm missing something here" regarding the price of this drum. I get that someone can ask what they want as far as a selling price goes....but what's so special here? I'm a "Gretsch" drum guy....so I'm not knocking the drum....just asking so I can be more informed.
Anybody got some ideas/history/comments about the drum they'd like to share?
My snare on my 60's Gretsch kit was like that too. I modified mine in the 80's before you had eBay and Craigslist to buy parts from. Mine now has the old Ludwig p-85. The Microsensitive throw off is only marginally better than the Zoomatic. It's amazing to me that Slingerland ever went away from the Radio King 3 pt design. Gretsch came out with the Lightning throw off which is much improved compared to the MS. When my Gretsch had all that MS and the threaded butt side it always came loose. The MS side arm was broken. That is why I swapped it out for a p-85 I had off my school Acrolite. That snare is a sweet sounding snare. The die-cast hoops make it a breeze to play. I don't care if Tony Williams owned it. No snare drum is worth that much money.
