I recently bought two 12" AV heads and they are exactly the same size as the remo heads I have. They also don't fit.
has anyone come across this?

Dave, wonder if it is a Modern Vintage head accidentally printed with an American Vintage stamp? I think they look identical if other than the slight size difference and stamp.

I had a similar situation where after finding that the heads didn't fit I realized that I had ordered the Modern Vintage heads in error instead of the American Vintage. Like you say they seem exactly the same except for the logo name.
