Slingy's

Man some people need to be slapped. Must be an 1/8" of Black enamel outside and inside, and on the badges.Hoop won't even fit on the 16".

Sizes 24" bass, extra mount hole.

22" base that someone turned into a tom with floor mounts. Grrrr

12,13 16" toms. 16" was made into a rack tom. Nice crooked job on the mount. Plus extra holes.

The 12 and 13 had bottom lugs and hoops, but were plugged to make a concert tom (cries). Drums have the wide rerings, I'm guessing sixties. Haven't got the paint off the badges yet. That's gonna be tricky not to scratch the daylites out of them.

Snare is a Maxwin by Pearl ten lug.

Pearl Hi hat. Yamaha Pedal

Zildjian 18" crash with a nice chunk missing. Didn't even bother to take

pictures of the Pearl hi hat cymbals. They look like a road map with cracks all over them.

Anyway. I shouldn't complain too much for $50.00. But it's just sad to see someone butcher such a nice set of drums.

Sorry. Steps off soapbox.

Joe

So-what color/colors do you suppose they WERE?That is a good score. The bass and hi-hat pedals are both good quality units.Break out the stripper;)

There's only one of the drums that have a wrap left on them., That's lifting and cracked all over. Tried to scrap some off last night, but I can't tell If I'm splitting the wrap or scratching the "H" out of it. Gonna try some stripper later.

*No I don't Know her name*:p

You are correct -- Some people DO need to be slapped!crying2-07

Nevertheless, even in the worst scenario you got yourself some original Slingerland hardware at a more than reasonable price.

Good luck with your project!

No wonder these thing's weigh a ton.

The outside shell wood is very dark. Almost looks like Cherry. Than comes a layer of Grey primer. Than looks like a layer of sheetrock mud. (yeh that's what I thought too) lol

Than Brown, Red, White. and Finally Black. Someone must have changed colors with the seasons.

Man what a mess. Good thing is the stripper don't have a smell.

Serial numbers are five degit. 95920.And 96***

Please document the process for us,even if only 1 or 2 a week.Nothing beats a good strip show!Up in my neck of the woods you can have furniture dip-stripped.You get totally naked, undamaged wood back.I had a 14"Ludwig marching snare with at least 3 layers of paint dipped-came back beautiful mahogany inside and out.Not 1 speck of paint anywhere.

That sounds interesting. I've not heard of a process like that before.

Update on this mess.

Toms before. Yes the white stuff is sheet rock mud. Lots of wood missing all over them. These are deffinetly bon fire material.

Bass drum is the only thing that could be saved. Was stained dark rosewood under three colors of paint that were removed. Outer shell is a very hard wood.
