Here's a few pictures from a gig Saturday nigh at a place called The Over Bar & Grill. I decided to use a snare stand for the tom and two crash cymbals. Nice venue, the audience was very responsive and the kit sounded great, even outside.

A couple more....
Do you find the tom is more comfortably positioned on a stand or do you think it sounds better, or both?
I find it a bit easier to position the tom, but it doesn't sound much different. I also don't really like having anything on the kick. It sounds bigger without a drum or cymbal hanging off it, especially a 20" kick.
Drums look GREAT JR! Doesn't get any better as it does look like a nice venue, big stage, excellent crowd... GREAT! If you're working with people in the group that you like, every gig has it's magical moments!

JR!
Really great set of Rogers! What snare drum are you playing?

I'm using a poor mans Black Beauty, that's a Pork Pie Big Black brass snare. It sounds great and doesn't cost near as much as a Black Beauty. I use that snare for bigger venues because it projects like crazy.

We had a lot of compliments and being our first time at this venue, it boosted our ego a few notches. Like most bands, you have your good days and not so good days, this was a very good day, everyone brought their A game.
Looks fun!
Thank you!
