I have two small holes in a Gretsch Snare that I am re-wrapping. What is the best method to fill them? They are 2 very small 1/8 of an inch holes. I have read Wood Filler and Bondo are not the way to go. Would you go through the trouble of cutting dowels for holes this size? Or is there an Epoxy Wood Filler that anyone would recommend? PC Woody? QuickWood?

I always use a dowel cut to size and standard titebond wood glue. Then sand it smooth. I try to buy only hard wood dowels, but on something that small it shouldn't matter much. If you don't have any luck finding a dowel that small, check in the craft stores. For larger holes I sometimes use old drum stick pieces, and for oversize holes I cut plugs from old drum shells.
