I'm now looking for the make/model #/year, etc. of the Rogers drum kit used by Micky Dolenz of The Monkees in the late 1960s. I'm hoping experts on this forum will be able to assist.

I looked at the other thread on him yesterday..it didn't even register he was playing Slingerlands...
I've always loved the way that Dolenz set up his kit for live shows in a very non-traditional, ergonomic fashion. As a "Lefty" he plays the bass with his left foot, but leaves his right foot completely unoccupied. In lieu of a high hat, he uses a cymbal stand between the two toms set up with closed high hat cymbals. Ride and crash are both on his right. Innovative and strange left-hand setup. I also find it interesting why he would chose to use his bass "backwards" with the Swivo spurs in the back near the batter head. He does this with both the Ebony and the Onyx set in the pictures.
So what exactly is he playing on? From the bass T-rods, it looks like the Ebony set is Dayton and the Onyx set is late Cleveland or maybe early Dayton? Perhaps our Rogers experts can pinpoint the dates.
And did Davy Jones really need four different tamborines and four pairs of maracas (on the riser in front of the Onyx kit)?
Maybe Davy had them pitched for different songs...he knew in this song this one sounded right etc..?

During their short tour late last year, Mike Nesmith returned with his blonde Gretsch guitar (specifically made for him for the tour...his original from the '60s was stolen). I'm fairly certain Micky was playing Gretsch drums on the 2012 dates, too. Perhaps the experts here can confirm.

Yep. Those are Gretsch New Classics. Can't tell you much about the old Rogers kit...sorry.

There is a famous old story from the late 60's about Jimi Hendrix opening up for the Monkees here at the Charlotte Coliseum and getting boo'ed off the stage.

Those are Holiday toms in the configuration Micky wanted. Looks like he`s running the mike and tom off holders on the BD, they look like 20" then 12" 13" and 16". I don`t think it`s a catalog kit and if it is, he did whatever to it as I would. Also looks like a key holder, mount, badge in order with the panels showing on the tom in the center photo. Late 60`s sh*t. Kinda like this kit they way he wanted it !i
