Another Mike Prete phony badge drum? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Loading...

I had a recent post about a BR snare drum with badge that I saw on eBay and wanted to find out about the validity of it. That drum was pretty much proven to NOT have belonged to Buddy and the badge was faked by Mike Prete.

Here's another listing for another drum with a GK badge on it. The seller even says the drum was obtained from Mike Prete. You can see/read it here... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330978451726

So, is this another fake, too?

Man sure looks it. The GK badge seems kind of crude for Slingerland to use/make. I think they'd make a better looking badge for the "king of swing" and #1 endorser.

Here's a few pics of a old GK RK snare Steve Maxwell sold. Note the highly finished interior and custom badges. Sweet drum and the real deal~!

I think Steve or some of the other GK experts would be able to verify the heritage of the drum in question. to me it just does not seem like the real deal.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
