Any guesses on the value of this 1950s WFL kit? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

vintagemore2000, I'll weigh and post pix of my cymbals ASAP. Thanks.

Batterhead, thanks for the responses. Hopefully someone else will chime in about the value of a set like mine.

This is all new to me so I really appreciate that you all shared your knowledge.

I response to vintagemore 2000's request, here is more info on the cymbals:

(I used my old 32-ounce scale to weigh them, so I don't know how accurate this is; I converted ozs to grams using Google's conversion tool)

-the 16" crash is about 992 grams

-the 14" hi-hats are each about 765.5 grams

I'm attaching photos of the markings.

Thanks again!

Not claiming to be expert in cymbals, and I may be off here, but to me that appears to be a 1950's Zildjian...very nice!

But again, not being involved in the buying/selling aspects of this stuff, I can't offer a value.

As for the Hi-Hats I have no idea at all.

Thanks Batterhead, I'll do some research into the Zildjian's age. Now, how do I get more people on this forum to reply with info/guesses/ballpark estimates on value?

Possibly by being more specific regarding your intentions wrt the kit...Mitch

Sorry, DownTownFarmer, good point. My intent is to sell the kit.

Thanks,

The Zildjian looks like a 1970s stamp to me. Worth about $100, on a good day.

Nice drums. Buddy Rich set? I'd say around 1200-1800. Depending on factors. Maybe a tad more. Probably not less.

Thanks, Madchops82! I would guess it's a Buddy Rich, but I'm by no means an expert. Actually I'm clueless! I appreciate that you took a stab at the price range they'd get.Cool1
