Nice Video! I felt like I was watching a Starsky and Hutch episode there with the wardrobes though....
I have also finally figured out who Scott Stapp got his front man styling from!! Two peas in a pod, Stapp and whoever the ultra-tight permed lead singer from Kansas is!! guitar2

Ahhhhh, yes.... Kansas and Phil Ehart!
I grew up in Topeka. I was about 5-6 years younger than most of them so I didn't know personally any of the ones that "made it" as Kansas in the early 70s. They were definately what we all looked up to as the example of what was possible!
I did have some connecting dots though... One of my sister's best friends was married to Dave Hope (original bass player) early in his career (BTW -- DH is a church pastor now, and has been for years). Another of my sister's friend's brother (Steve Hawks) played with some of them in the group "Plain Jane," which was a "precurser" to Kansas. I was good friends with one of Kansas' original members (Larry Baker), but he moved on before they made it big.
My best memory of a Kansas concert was in Hays, Ks in Feb. of 1974. They played in the old arena that was "unofficially" called the "Snake Pit." Still remember that show (don't know if that's good or not: a good sign I'm getting old and those memories are fresher than last week!)!
Yes, Phil's style is awesome, and hard to replicate!
