Includes tom mount hardware and pro quality snare and cymbal stand. Asking price is $200. Please chime in if know something about these drums.

Thanks.

I know nothing about them, and never heard of them _ but I notice the gaskets under the mount and lugs _ which to me indicates a bit better build quality.

AND then _ you are getting ALL of that listed in a WMP wrap _ plus a deep shelled snare _ and some hardware.

I'd say that deal would be hard to pass up.

Appearance wise they are killer, and don't look abused in any way.

Its certainly worth the trip to go see them in person and hear how they sound.

The Precision Drum Company in New York is well-known for quality parts and high quality builds. If that's a tagged Precision drum set, you're getting a custom made kit by one of the best drum dealers/builders around. You're looking at $1000.00 worth of drums, or more, (when new) for $200.00.

I'd wake the guy up in the middle of the night and close the deal before anybody else finds out. Again, if it's a Precision kit; you're looking at a high quality build probably using Keller shells and Precision hardware. They use double 45's on the bearing edges, so the drums will sound punchy, loud and have all kinds of attack and projection. For $200. you couldn't buy the bare shells in that kit.

See photo and compare lugs and hardware with the drums you're going to buy.

Buy now! Or tell -me- where the kit is...

Purdie _ I knew about Precision Drums, but I didn't think that's what we have here.

The badges on those drums he's considering reads as:

Precision Instruments

Did Precison Drum ever use a badge like that _ they very well might have for all I know?

It's sort of hard to tell from the one picture he's uploaded to the design of the kit overall _ though the lug design does look similar.

Definitely worth investigating though.

It's a phone call... there is a contact 800 number at the Precision website. Call and ask for Andrea. Describe the badge. It 'may' very well be an old Precision badge. You'd have to ask.

But, if that's an older Precision kit (New York, Precision) then it's a stomp-down steal at $200. To buy the raw Keller shells alone would cost more than $250.! Then bearing edges, hardware, wrap, hoops, heads, assembly... do the math. (If) it is Precision; that was a $1200. to $1400. kit when ordered.

Call Andrea, ask! Be a bummer to find out it's an MIJ...

Thanks guys!! I'm gonna check em' out and put the sticks to em' Saturday morning and see if I like them. At the very least-they COULD be maple shells...a 20 lug kick drum-that's worth it to me AND I dig the wrap!! Thanks for the tips on what to look for in the shells and hardware.

"MIJ!!??" REALLY?? DOH My Granstar ll's are MIJ and they sound ok....lol!!

Is there a link I can check out to see that tom that had the "Precision Instuments" badge? I have been unable to find ANY info on these.

Cheers!

Eric

PS. That Mapex snare only has 8 lugs...

I just had Precision make me the 6.5 x 14 wood Dyna replica I've been cobbling together all the parts for for several years. I've obviously never played a 'real' 6.5 wood Dyna but the one George made up for me is amazing. And they couldn't have been nicer to work with. I highly recommend Precision Drum Co.
