Anyone need an early Kent snare (American made) Last viewed: 15 hours ago

2 ply maple shell - needs strainer - but surely a Kent despite seller's confusion.

I just don't need it - but hard to let a steal of a deal go - growing a little maturity tonight to just let it go!

EBAY item number 321836764983

If you know your stuff and are looking for one for your Kent kit......you're welcome.....just surely please let me / us know. I would like to know this helped someone.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

So is this one of the later ones and is indeed a MIJ model? I've bought some neat stuff from this seller in the past.

Come on Mike - snap out of it! You know this stuff better than I do.....

No no no - this is an earlier American made 2 ply maple....with an MIJ strainer and wires. Those 2 pieces confused and threw off the seller. Everything else is American all the way. Sure this snare would sound fantastic.....if you like black wrap, which I am not sure is original or not. Not a fan of glossy black at all....and I can't justify another drum buy no matter how cheap it is!

Butt is original early Kent, lugs are very heavy & solid original early Kent, not sure about rims but I assume original (nothing jumps out as otherwise). Shell being thin 2-ply maple makes sense as well - (read up on Mark Cooper's Kent page)

Simply a steal for any Kent player or collector.......

Correction - appears that the rims are not original either (comparing to a 60s Kent snare on Cooper's page)

Shoot - looking at several Kent snares on Mark's page - I suppose these could be Kent rims.....look identical to ones found on the Revere, and some others.

There is something weird about that shell as I see a pretty odd looking seam next to the tone control that is unlike a US made Kent shell . The fact that is has been painted black inside , has a MIJ tone control, strainer and is a rewrap are issues as well . I saw this when it was listed but with issues I feel it is not really worth it .
