Anyone planning on going to the Chicago Drum Show 2015? Last viewed: 10 minutes ago

If so, I have an idea..........it might sound stupid but here goes nothing:

We should all get nametags to identify us as VDF members. Maybe wear them like a press pass or something, but with the VDF logo, and then our "real" and screen names.

What do you think? We could probably have them done up at Kinkos or somewhere for pretty cheap.

I think it would be a great way to "distinguish" ourselves from all the others. It would also be nice for all of us in attendance to meet at a certain time, perhaps for dinner or breakfast, and actually get to interact in person!

I won't be wearing a VDF shirt, but I WILL be at the show in a special display showing my "Snare Drums of Buddy Rich" collection hosted by www.vintagedrumguide.com. I will also have a complete 1949/50 WFL Buddy Rich Super Classic set on display as well as some other RARE Buddy Rich artifacts. This display is in a special area that is actually "quiet" so conversation can take place... well, relatively quiet at least! I hope all of you stop by to have a look and say hello! Here's a teaser pic!

I will be there and selling in a booth with fellow member drumdrumdrum. I've taken the liberty of designing the card for you all, will fit into a standard plastic badge holder. Here's how the card looks along with mine which I customized. feel free to do the same. Download the file for printing at:

Then just drag it or save it from the browser to your desktop.

Tommy, I didn't know there was a quiet area. That's good because I do want to talk to you. It's very hard to talk to anyone in the big rooms, that's the only thing I don't like about the show.

Thank you!

I will be in the Jenkins-Martin booth. Make sure and come by and introduce yourselves.

Jeff!

The "quiet area" is the Drum Show Common Area as Rob Cook calls it. That's where Rob wanted this display as it's more of a presentation/collection than a buy/sell. The concessions are in this room as well as Rebeats and DRUM Magazine. The entrances to both the East and West Exhibit Halls are accessed through the common area. I know what you're sayin' too! I've been to the Chicago Show as well as the CT Vintage Drum Show many times, and it does get crankin' inside with lots of background "sound". The area Rob chose for my display/collection will be quite tame "sound wise" comparatively speaking to the main vendor/display areas. Please DO stop by and chat! I want to make mention that David Anfuso will be there with me as well. Your COMPLETE .. ( as it were ) .. VDF team!
