These are imported drums from Japan in the 60's. They would be considered low quality drums.
The wood ran vertical so that is a clear sign it is a Japanese import. Interestingly many people started on those drums because they were cheaper then American made drums of that time.
They show up all of the time on Ebay in a variety of different finishes. The Japanese also copied drums from America so they had similar hardware and finishes.

I have a circa 1970 set of Apollo drums. gold sparkle, excellent condition. These were my original and only drums and I have always taken very good care of them. Original accessories. Includes Slingerland snare. Cymbals have been replaced with Zildjian A. Have always loved them. I think they sound great and are well constructed.
