Aquarian Bass Drum Head Last viewed: 29 minutes ago

I've got a late 50s Slingerland bass drum with its original calfskin batter side head. I plan on playing this kit out in the near future and, based on the recommendations and suggestions of some fellow forum-members (thank you, guys!), I'm going to use a replacement head for playing purposes.

I love the sound of the Aquarian Super Kicks (I and II). However, recently I noticed an Aquarian SX22 Studio X Clear head being offered at a significantly lower price. I'd like to know whether any of you have had the chance to play this particular head and how it compares in sound with the Super Kicks. Thanks in advance for your time and your help!

Funny, I just replaced a 22" Slingerland early 1970s bass batter head that was original to the kit yesterday with an Aquarian Force I clear head. ($26.50 free ship). So far so good.

BTW, I have a Slingy late 50s snare with calf skin head and I don't care for it. Way too much "give" and not nearly as responsive as your plastic Remo or whatever. Make the changeover :)

Thanks for your input. After reading it, I ordered a Force I. Looking forward to trying it out.
