Arched drum spur sizes-Ludwig Last viewed: 37 minutes ago

Can you guys (and gals if any present) tell me what size the arched spurs were on the B/O kits? Namely a bass built on October of 1970. Its a 14 x 24 if that makes any difference. And do the brackets use the same screw spacing regardless of the size of spur? Thanks!

If you mean the curved spurs, they were 5/16", commonly/mistakenly called 1/4".

The mounts have the same hole spacing as the old gullwing mounts (P-1612-D, which are the classic '60s tom and L-arm cymbal mounts.)

Yes, they were always referred to as 1/4", but are definitely 5/16". The hole spacing for the mounts is the same as the Classic tom and cymbal mounts, which is 1-7/8".

The 1/2" spurs came out in 1975 or 6.

Vintage Ludwig Drums are extremely desirable these days. Have you checked out ebay lately? 1960s / 1970s and older Ludwigs are very collectible. Thousands were made because of the explosion of Ludwig drum incredible good and wonderful for daily use if in excellent conditions.

Ringo drummer for the Beatles can be given most of the credit for this sudden huge demand. He requested a very obvious Ludwig logo placed above the larger Beatles logo on his bass drum head. Wow! What a free marketing jackpot for Ludwig! His drum kits also switching to oyster black Ludwigs
