I've been hoping to find an affordable Slingerland player's kit since I started playing, but they go fast or are out of my meager price range. Found this kit an am ready to go get it, but have some serious reservations about the authenticity due to the hardware style. Any knowledgable input would be excellent and quite helpful.

I'd buy them. I don't see many for sale. Great sizes that will never go out of style. Offer $400 due to your having to purchase new heads and go from there.
