Autographed Drumset value? Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

Loading...

Hello,

I've got a 1999 TAMA Rockstar Pro 5 piece kit in clear red finished wood (not wrapped). They are the deep shells and are like new condition with the origional heads still even like new. I had one mounted tom and the floor tom autographed on the inside of the shells by Jason Bonham. I was wondering what value the kit has? I'm thinking about either selling it and wanted some input from my fellow drummers as to what a ballpark value might be. I have pictures of Jason signing it as documentation.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

I think it's worth whatever a Jason Bonham fan is prepared to pay. There never seems to be a set price on this kind of thing. However this is only my opinion. sounds like a damn fine kit though :)

Anything that involves autographs, has to be authenticated, and therefore, must come with some provenance,in the form of documentation, photos ect.

Many an individual has tried to sell ,what they believed to be a genuine autograph, only to find that it wasn't what they sad it was, when scrutinized by a handwriting expert. Also ,your word that it is,no disrespect intended,is not sufficent provenance or proof of authentication.

I would also suspect that the Jason Bonham autograph market is somewhat limited, and not very lucrative either. The value of that kit, would be somewhat low, considering the X-Tra sizes of the toms.Check out Ebay ....completed auctions,to see what the current market resale value of that kit would be.That's a good starting point.Good luck .

i recently sent a large amount of memorabilia to auction and a set of jason's early sticks and signed photo went for $75.

now, we're talking about a kit here so there's value in that as well. but its a rockstar kit. not really worth alot on its own.

its a tough call but to me they cancel each other out. can you get used retail for the kit or can you get more because its signed by jason, who's not really at the top of the list for collectors?

also, a drum kit takes up alot of real estate to a collector. if only the heads were signed they would be easy to sell seperately.

Jason Bonham autographs are fetching between $10 and $50 at fleabay, so unless you find someone who gets all misty down south over Jason Bonham the signature does not add a great amount of value to what is an outdated, middle-level branded, drum kit. The kit is worth whatever Tama Rockstar kits are selling for plus a few bucks for the autograph.

Bonzo - The autograph does add a little value, but only to someone who is a fan of Jason's. Autographs don't gain real value unless the person was really famous, didn't sign many autographs and is also dead, so no new autographs are forthcoming. Jason is not as well-known, or revered as his dad and he's still young, alive and signing autographs. If he was 'more' famous (and dead) then you'd have something there.
