Just came on the market. Looks pristine!
I would like to take a look at it. What think you?

It's not a Jazzette. That's an 18 X 14 bass drum, for one thing. It has a double tom post mount, secondly.
It does look like a nice set of drums and I'm sure it would sound great, too. But, as a collectible, it's not a Jazzette.
edit: -looks like Walnut Cortex, btw.
O'Lugs.
Thanks for clarifying. What set is this? Just wondering..Coffee Break2

There is no "official" name for that particular drum set. It would be considered, in general, as a 'bop' sized kit. It could have been custom ordered that way, but there were no "modeled" drum sets in that configuration. As a working-kit for players, that detail is irrelevant, of course. It didn't mean anything back in the day, either. But, to collectors, today, it means a LOT.
They do look pretty nice. I'll bet they sound great.
BTW....Upon closer look, that mounted tom, in the picture appears to be a 13" tom. (Larger lugs). Is that correct?
Just for reference...A 'true' Jazzette, is a 12" (mounted to a rail consolette)/14 X 14 floor tom and VERY-SPECIFICALLY, an 18 X 12 bass drum...and a Supra, too. The consolette has to be mounted on the top of the bass -as opposed to off-center.
Oh, my gosh! I forgot about the later catalogs! HA! Well, you just brought up a great point! Can you tell me what the year of that kit is in the first post? Would it be mid-80's, perhaps?
I know of no cataloged kits with an 18 X 14 bass drum.
Hey O-Lugs!
I must mention the page for them
By the way I have 3 or 4 more sets to add to the page which have surfaced over the past year or so.

It's hazy territory, kellyj. I see what you're saying and I could certainly see someone ordering a 1980 Jazzette -except with an 18" bass drum...because, by that time, Ludwig had likely discontinued any production of 3-ply 18 X 12 shells. Also, since the single-post mount bracket is already there, as such, a double post could have been added without any alteration. I'll bet they would have just gone to an 18 X 14 to fulfill the order. That's be my guess.
I can't be 100% certain what to say about the 80' era of Ludwig drum sets. My cutoff point is around 1979!

Yep! I figured that kellyj already knew about that page, but it's always good to include that resource for everyone's reference!
