Bare shells - Ludwig or not? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

The finest of all mornings to you, gentlemen.

I need help with this potential purchase. Somebody is offering these two shells, claiming they're Ludwig from 60s. When asked about dimensions, he replied with 35x33cm and 35x29cm. That's something between 13" and 14" of diameter. They might be Ludwigs and he didn't measure them properly, or they're european and metric. One of them really looks like it used to have Ludwig lugs mounted on it at some point in time, but they both seem to be drilled only for six lugs. Assuming they're Ludwig 14x12" and 14x13" 3ply shells, could they have 6 lugs?

I think I'm going to see them in person. Are there any ways of telling whether they really are Ludwig? They seem completely stripped, painted and uglied. He's asking 25 dollars for each.

The re-enforcement hoops don't look Ludwig to me.

Hard to tell from the pic, but the grain looks vertical on the inside. Definitely not Ludwig if it is….
