Bass Drum Hoop Protection? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

From mlayton

I seem to use a lot of hoop mounted items. I too don't like the marks on my hoops and especially if ive just redone a set. I buy the large squares of moleskin pads. they have adhesive backing. I cut them and adhere them to the item where it would touch the hoop. seems to last forever. I use it on my pedals,cowbell/woodblock mounts, bass anchor, tom clipper mount, etc.mike

Hey Mike,

Do these pads have a clothe-like surface? If that is the case, it seems they would slip. Wouldn't thin rubber be better?

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I stick double pieces of duct tape on the hoop. It works. Just have to check from time to time if there is a tear, and that's all.
