Fellow Members:
I have a squeaky bass pedal (DW-5000) spring which seems to take on a life of its own every month or so. My kit is at the guitar player's home sitting on the rug in his music room/recording studio. I do not want to drip any oil on it of course. I've tried Vasoline in the past but, it seems to wear off in very little time. I don't want to try placing towels under the spring to catch any residual drops of oil either. Any suggestions?

Have you tried spray silicone? They usuually come with a concentrater tube so you can direct the spray where needed. As long as you don't use too much, it shouldn't drip. Wrap a towel around the area being sprayed while spraying to catch any cast off.
I've use silicone bicycle chain and bearing lube. Last longer than Vaseline and is thick, so shouldn't drip if you apply carefully. Phil Wood is one good brand, but I just got a tube of what they had at the local bike shop.

Thank you, Tinman and nearlybrian! Yesterday, I purchased a product from a local bicycle shop called "Muc Off". It's a dry silicone lubricant used for bike chains. I used it sparingly on my chain and spring and it worked magic! No drips either! Thanks again for the input.
