In second half of February I was in Beijing China, and besides all things normally you are go to see,I tried to find some music store and drums of course. There is whole street with musical instruments, western style and Chinese national instruments.Left and right side of street.the name is Xinjieoku south street .And there is a lot of Western companies.Pdp,Dw and Tama,Pearl,Sabian ,Zildjian,Menil,Paiste. You can see some prices 1 $USD=6,3 Yuans.I believe that many of those brands have factory in China.Prices are not to high, and i am saying this, because in China everything imported, not made in China, is expensive. For example,if you are in restaurant,Coke is 10 yuans, beer 15 and coffie is 30-35! because it is imported. So what you think? Are those companies really in Usa or Mexico or Japan, are they make they shells and than send them to China, were metal parts are made and drum is assembled. What do you think. Some of those prices are pretty nice for a snare Made in Usa and than sent to China

Have a nice day

I think it's interesting that there is so much DW stuff on the shelves. Must cost a mint to import! If a DW snare goes for $400 -500 here, it must cost three times that in Beijing. That represents a lot of double-shifts making sneakers at the Nike plant!

Thanks for the photos. Well-stocked music store! Not great brands, but a hell of a selection nonetheless.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
