Best Ludwig Marching Snare Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi to All,

I would like to get some opinions on what was the best marching snare,

that Ludwig made in the 1960s thru 1970s. Size/shell type / rings or no rings/ number of plys/ etc. My son and I do clinics for the local school kids and are adding a marching snare section to the program. We have one the schools newer model to use but I want to be able to show the students the difference in construction. I posted in the "wanted " section (see message below) and so far one of the forum members has responded and is currently looking thru his drums at the moment.

(bless him! I have ask him about 100 questions and he still talks to me!) .

Ludwig helps us a lot with his program so I would really like to use one of their models and cost is a factor as we do this free of charge. Any opinions, comments,or anyone that has a old Ludwig Marching snare that needs a good home for a good cause please let me know.Everyone on this forum has been great! Thanks to all in Advance.

Hi to All,

I’m looking for an older model Ludwig marching snare. We give percussion clinics for the local schools and are in need of one to cover the marching section we have added to the program this year.

I only have about $50 in the kitty for this.

(Please don’t laugh, we do these free of charge).

I’m hoping to find someone in the Northwest Chicago suburb area to be able to pick it up to save shipping charges. If someone has one of these in this price range that they want to have a good home and help a lot of young music students please PM me.

Thanks to all in advance!!
