Thanks for the explanation. When I marched in the mid-'70s, the drums had all kinds of contraptions to hold them up.Appreciate it.Stephen

We had Premiers with some sort of goofy wireform leg rest that hooked into clips on the lugs and never really worked right.

Both knees were always nicely bruised after a march.

One reason I didn't realize this was a marcher was because of its size. Back in High School, our marching snares were like 12 x 15. 9 x 14 just seems too small for a parade drum. I guess it's possible that it was cut down, as DolFan54 suggested. Like I said, if it was altered, they did a helluva job.
