Ludwig muddied the waters by using the B/O badge on those B stock Black Beauties in the last few years. Not helpful.

My 2002 BB is basically a Supra with a tan as far as I'm concerned. Imperial lugs. P-85. Keystone badge. Sounds great, but wouldn't appeal to 1920s Ludwig snare fans.

But it doesn't match the rest of my 1969/70 kit which does have B/O badges. I've learned to live with the shame. ;)

They are all really nice and depends totally on whether you're a purist or willing to budge a little on your requirements.

The original BB's were not badged at all and stamped "Ludwig" on the shell with several different engraving designs.

The 70's B&O drums now command as much or close to the originals in re-sale.

The newer Monroe "Keystone" drums are very nice too. As has been said, its a Supra with a tan. I have one of these and it has such a nice focused attack, same as the pre-serial brass Supras but for less money.

id like both personally, they have a look thats is both nostalgic ones more of a true relic and the other is considered sort of like early 70's psychedelic i would say, anyways whats not to like!

I don't think the B/O badge is the prettiest to look at in the Ludwig badge lineup... I think the keystones are better as the smaller size doesn't seem to standout as much.

Good education here too. At the end day, both badges are nice. The pre serial COB Supra has mojo written all over it...
