Black Vistas in Huge Sizes on Craigslist Last viewed: 12 hours ago

Done deal! I went up there and picked (most of) them up tonight. I wasn't able to get my bands van in time so I have to go back tomorrow morning to get the two monsters.. ahh I mean bass drums. The drums are in really great shape. All original, no extra holes or mods. The serial numbers date the drums to '78-'79, and they've been stored in their anvil cases since 1986. A lot of the foam inside the cases has since deteriorated and crumbled off, so the drums are going to need a nice cleaning.. The 14 and 15 concert toms are actually Tama, and I also got a mij bdp tom, and anvil trap case in the deal.

I'll post a bunch of pics for you guys in a day or two when I get them squared away. PaiceFan, I can't thank you enough for bringing this kit to my attention. I would have never seen this on my own, if you're ever in Jersey I gotta buy you a beer!!

Hey thanks Glenn, the whole thing was contingent upon me selling a kit to raise the funds.. I'm really lucky I got it done in time. The seller promised to hold the kit until wednesday and was going to keep his word even though there were a bunch of guys chomping at the bit. Good Guy.

PS I can't wait to see some pics of those slingys man!

Alex that's great you were able to make it all happen in that timeframe! I knew a drummer from Stamford back in high school his name was Doug. He had a clear 5pc Vista kit back then and he was looking for something bigger. Would be funny if it was the same guy. Excellent drummer too. Looking forward to seeing pics!

I'll be sure to get some pics of the Slingys up soon.

Ok guys I was going to wait to put up some pics of the kit until I got a nice clear logo head for the bass drum but here ya' go.. I didn't have to do much to clean them up. I gave the rims a dawn bath, no polish. Since the hardware was in pretty good condition to begin with I didn't want to risk removing it from the shells. The shells and hardware were cleaned with windex and then I used Novus 2 ( this stuff is great!).

I know a lot of people like to hate on the sound of vistalites but these things, especially the 26" kick, have a great rock sound. Since these are not transparent, I'm using coated emperors for a little more warmth. Hope you guys enjoy the pics.
