Is the radio king a solid shell?

Lucky - it's a 3-ply (Mahogany inside/poplar/maple outside). Awesome sounding snare drum. Ready for paint, wrap or left alone and played as-is.

Sorry John, looking for a solid. Nice drum though, good luck with the sale and your Blaemire quest!

I 'think' the 3-ply is the rarer of the two shells offered. Although I completely understand why you want the solid shell one. Thanks for looking and for the well-wishes.

I just saw an ugly duckling pitted monster go for a ridiculous price while mine just sits.

Unfortunately, it's the B/O drums that are getting all the attention. I know your drum sounds great, but it's a Monroe badge, and it's a super-sensitive to boot. They just aren't commanding the money. Alot of people are leary of the SS because they think it's a complicated throwoff system. Now, if that certain drummer from LZ had played a super-sensitive it would be a different story.;)

That's auction price was crazy! Was that "estate" located in the rainforest?

I bet ya we'll see it offered again after the buyer fails to pay.

I took all that into consideration when I priced it out. I'll just have to tough it out and wait for my buyer to come along. I have a couple of other things I can throw into the sale, but I hesitate to do it until something else sells. Stuff gets lost in the shuffle when you list a lot of items at once.

Patience... patience.

I also have the shells up for sale. There's a WMP Oaklawn Camco in there 12"x15" just waiting to be converted into a killer floor tom... 4-ply Jasper maple shell, Camco bearing edges, wrap in excellent condition.

The Radio King is still available too...
