I found a couple of Slingerland drums that were the same vintage and color as my sons 67 Ludwigs. The wrap is identical, Slingerland and Ludwig must have bought their finish from the same vendor. I mean it's identical. My son doesn't care, unless you look at the lugs you cant tell.

Yes,they both got their finishes from a company in Italy, who's name escapes me at the moment!

Heck if you have the time switch out the hardware if it'll makes you happy...why not. You've got the hardware and it's not that hard of a job. Probably take ya an hour. I'd want to see the kit with matching lugs at least. Keep the Rogers stuff of course, and be careful not to strip anything. In the mean time you can still look for the Ludwig.

If the Ludwig parts fit with no mod, then do it! You'll love the result.

Post photos when you're done.

From t.c.

Well the good thing is that Rogers small beavertails and large Ludwig classic lugs use the same hole spacing and will interchange without any modifications to the holes. Go for the Luddy lugs. But maybe use the Rogers washers so as not to put any new indentations on the inside of the shell.

Leave it alone if for no other reason than the impressions you will leave on the interior AND exterior of the shell/wrap.The Ludwig lugs will leave an impression in the wrap of the drum, which won't be the same as the Rogers lugs. That can lead to problems when and if you decide to sell the Rogers tom at a later date.

Part of the reward is in the hunt.Be patient.Just my 2 cents.
