The rider specified certain zildjian cymbals and dw pedal and specific snare. The new drummer brought his own cymbals, kick pedal and he brought a supra snare.

He should have been specific about what drums he wanted in the rider. That's a mistake on his part. Sounds like you had it covered, especially with new heads.

There were numerous times in my last band where we could not bring our own back line. It would be in our contract to use the opening band's gear, or they would get rental gear. We listed everything to the last detail for rentals. If we used the opener's, many times I was stuck with worst bass amp ever...but I kept my mouth shut about it. As bad as it was to me, that was someone's pride and joy.

They are always very specific about thier requirements, unfortunatly you cant have everything everyone wants. Im guessing the wants an exact copy of their favorite kit. One drummer wants paiste, one wants zildjian, and 1 wants sabian. Icant have all these state of the art cymblas or drums. Heres a rider for a concert comming up oct 1st.

Ringo played Ludwig so I am sure he had a few Supras. He may have even used one on a song or two in that band the Beatles.

I'm not sure he ever used a Supra with the Beatles. It was always that Black Oyster Jazz Fest. You can even see it on scenes from Let It Be.

There's a pic of him holding the gold Supra when Ludwig gave it to him, but it's unclear if he even used THAT one.

FWIW my band opened for BOC in the 90's and the drummer was Chuck Burgi.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
