A very telltale smile on his face. You can surmise he is enjoying every moment, a part of which has to be the voice of the drums themselves. I really like the camera angle.

PS - Is Roberto Spizzichino saying that the sound of the cymbal had changed as a result of playing it for two years, as if the hammering of his drum stick had modified the fundamental sound so that Spizzichino did not immediately recognize it as his one of his?

Yes, that's exactly what Roberto was saying. You would expect the cymbal to change sonically over a course of many, many years, but that drastically after only a couple of years? I didn't ask him, but I think Brian Blade's cymbal might be a Tony Williams clone. It makes you wonder how Roberto's other TW'a or Elvin clone cymbals will fare years down the road.

Oh very cool. I would love to acquire a little kit exactly the same to marry my current Gretsch's. It's a 22 13 16 w/mtchng snare config so putting that all together would be drummer heaven(well for me).

Here's another one for the followers of this thread. I remember a time when Chick wouldn't play this tune on a gig. I guess he's finally cool with it as he closed both sets with it on this night. Enjoy!
