I been sitting around watching this cat.

He is so awesome! Yes Sir

In this video he appears to be playing a "Cadillac Green" Progressive Jazz Gretsch.

Is that right?

What a great player on a great kit. Bowing

I love Brian Blade! Can't get enough!

I know he played a Gretsch Round Badge Progressive Jazz in Black Nitron for several years. That's what it looks like he is playing, to me.

Check out his solo on Jazz Crimes. One of the best!

What a feel for the music that man has! The choices he makes as he plays always blow my mind. Dynamics and chops out the ying-yang. Love the way he plays with time. First class pro.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I have watched a few of his videos and he is an animal. A real all around drummer. I really dig this one also. He is equally at home in a "post rock" setting:

I'm a very late comer to the Brian Blade bandwagon, but you guys can envy me because you know the discovery that lies ahead! :)

Dynamics seem to be his staple no matter the style of music he is playing. He seems to be in another place when he is playing. It strikes me, that although he has incredible physical talent what makes Brian Blade BRIAN BLADE is what's going on in his head.

Now I've got to go waste the entire day on YouTube...

His duet work with Wolfgang Muthspiel is phenomenal. This is my favorite cut from that concert that Jazzbo mentioned. I LOVE that drum intro!

Awesome thread.

I saw him at The Blue Note approximately 10 years ago. Great show and he couldn't have been nicer.

Before they get up, I'll be knocking the jockeys off the lawn.
