I had a similar situation on a vintage Rogers 22"hoop-made 2 plates that conformed to the curve inside and out about 3" long.Epoxied the break,laid in the plates inside and out and drilled (pre drilled the plates)through the hoop,installing 8 #10 screws,then ground the heads flat with the nuts and lock washers on the inside.Not the prettiest,but no possibility of movement or seperation.That was at least 12 years ago,and no problems.

I thought about doing something similar to that, but the break fit back together so well I fell confident that the glue will hold it just fine

At the time I was NOT confident at all the glue only would hold-the previous owner had it DUCT TAPED together.But that was the least of that poor sets problems....another sad story of drum abuse.

I have been looking for something to do to keep my mind off of seeing if my recipe works. The glue instructions say clamp for 30 minutes, but Im gonna wait till tomorrow to remove the clamps. I'll bet it works!
