Just wondering if anyone's seen a BR "Be-Bop" snare with this particular badge?

Hey Gary!
Of course! My 1948/50 WFL Buddy Rich Super Classic set has that badge on ALL the drums. That was an early WFL aluminum badge still being used after WWII, until WFL/Ludwig phased the brass badge back in. I have that EXACT drum too by the way! It's not part of the BR Super Classic set, but it IS a BR model as it was designed specifically for Buddy at his request. He liked it... until he didn't. LOL!! He didn't play it all that long. Just during his "small group" phase in between big bands.

Hey, Tommy!
ALWAYS appreciative of you taking time away from your hectic schedule to help out an old geezer like me! Thanks for the information. Would it be fair to say that the closest I could nail down the actual date of manufacture, then, would be late 40s - early 50s?
Gary!...
That would be correct! WFL/Ludwig wasn't date stamping back then, so it really is a guesstimate.. but .. the aluminum badge would be right in there for that era. The brass badge.. ( same layout/etching ) .. can also show up within this era, but the aluminum really places it at approx. 1948 through 1950 or so. NICE DRUM Gary!!
