From Tommyp

Hey Mark!It was indeed a bit of work!, but... the concept had been discussed between David and myself for a while prior, so we had a good idea/plan on how to get it done, so to speak. Seeing as this was an actual historical display, Rob Cook wanted it in the common area instead of the normal exhibitor area, and it was much larger presentation in area/scope too. We figured we had to deliver! I already had the collection!, the history!, so... the rest was the actual display. Was great to meet and chat with you Mark! Goes without saying of course, you are THE KING of Slingerland Sea Foam Green!!! Gorgeous drums Mark!Tommyp

Thanks very much, Tommy! Since this year will be my last as an exhibitor/vendor, I wanted to go out with a big green bang!

P.S. Wish I could have spent more time gazing at your display but it was kind of hard getting away from my booth.

Mark!

I COMPLETELY understand about it being difficult to leave the booth! I wanted to see so much MORE of the show too, but couldn't for the same reason! But!...

You CAN check out the entire display and each drum in detail including it's history as Dave has just finished editing a very nice video of the entire display! I will be putting that up shortly!

Here is a COMPLETE and detailed overview of the Snare Drums of Buddy Rich display at the 2015 Chicago Drum Show. The video tour is courtesy of David Anfuso and features JUST THE DRUMS! You can PAUSE on each drum if you wish and read each history placard, and/or just check out the drums. Also, you can view FULL SCREEN if you like as it was shot in HD. Just CLICK the HD button on YouTube. Both David and I hope you ENJOY!!!

Tommy would be GREAT if this display went to the CT show. Thanks for the history and insight on the Fibes snare! Look forward to seeing the video too. So cool and glad it was a big hit in Chicago.

Wow~! Big smile here sitting on the edge of my chair watching! So many NICE snares! I loved seeing them all. I didn't know much about the later years and his Ludwig endorsements. Seeing those is really cool. Love the TDR snare too! First class video thanks!

Tommy, great video! I'm glad you posted this because I didn't get to thoroughly check out the whole booth. I did enjoy our conversation though, and it sure would be fun to sit and talk some more.

Excellent job David!

This is really nice for the guys who could not be at the show. It even nice for me, even though I saw it in person its fun to go back and revisit the display again. I'm so happy I got to see in person though! It is just so impressive, I totally agree with BEC, it was the best of the show hands down! Now take it to the next show so my good buddy Glenn can see it,lol!

Thank you!

Tommyp, there`s not much more that i can add to what has already been said but you sooo deserved this opportunity to display what i would say is "THE" finest Buddy Rich drum display in the entire world and esp. in the snare drum dept. Those are the finest examples of his loves/hates in that era of his life and i sincerely thank you for doing all you have done over that 20 yr. collection period.May Buddy`s legacy be long lived and thanks to you Tommyp it has...Wayne

Wayne!

THANK YOU very much for the extremely nice words! I greatly appreciate your taking the time to write what you did! I had to laugh at the love/hate examples, as there is some truth to that! I will say that in the snare drum department, if Buddy REALLY hated a particular model, he wouldn't play it for ANY length of time. So with these, well... these at least passed muster, with some more than others. He did have favorites! THANKS Wayne!

I've been so busy all day and FINALLY saw this thread! Excellent job, Tommyp! I feel I really missed out on so much and should have hopped a plane to see the show AND the BR snare drum display. It would have been a joy to spend time with you, Tommy! I'm most impressed!-Mark

Mark!

Now THAT would have been neat! THANK YOU very much!, and so glad you enjoyed! I know you're a big BR fan, so in that regard you would have really enjoyed this! I'll tell you though, it was a HAUL getting out there. Don't know that I would/could do it again truth be told. David shot an excellent video detailing the collection/display, so in that regard it's kinda like you are there. THANKS Mark as you have always been totally supportive and positive!
